I CAN Award Ceremony 2024

During the March school holidays, we gathered at Bukit View Primary School on a Tuesday morning with 40 students, their families and teachers for the I CAN Award Ceremony 2024!

Since 2013, the I CAN Award Ceremony has been held annually to give recognition to students under the School Goodie Bag programme, who have made significant Improvements in Conduct & Behaviour, School Attendance and Non-academic activities (such as involvement in community work, CCA, sports, arts, music or dance). These students are nominated by their teachers for their diligence and great efforts.

Parents were proud of their children for their hard work and great efforts. Many of the parents, like Mdm Jolie Oh, took a day off work to see their children receive the award.

A happy day for all the I CAN Award recipients and their families

It was a fun-filled day for all who attended! Before the trophies were given out, the lively performances by Bukit View Primary School's Brazillian Street Percussion-cum-Pop Band entertained the crowd. After the ceremony, students continued to enjoy unlimited instant prints at the photo booth, making their own tote bags and other treats specially prepared for them.

Beyond nourishing futures, through the ICAN award, we hope to inculcate in the students the I CAN spirit, to build character and courage to overcome challenging circumstances.

Each student also received a special gift sponsored by McDonald's Singapore

We're so proud of all our award recipients and what they have achieved! More than taking home the rewards of the trophy and $100 of book vouchers, we hope to continue to motivate and inspire the 'I CAN' spirit in them, to dream big and work towards their goals with courage.

Since 2004, Food from the Heart's School Goodie Bag programme has been providing monthly food support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Last year, more than 1,600 students from 42 schools receive essential food ration suitable for children during their key development years. The curated food pack contains at least 15 types of healthier-choice food items.
