Community Food Pack

The Community Food Pack programme comprises distributions of fresh fruit, eggs and bread, as well as monthly food packs of non-perishable food items.

The programme helps the less fortunate put food on the table and offset their living expenses. It is fuelled by a mix of food donations, cash donations, bread from our Bread Run programme, and the sweat of hardworking food charity volunteers who assist us in the sorting and packing process that happens after our food donation drives in Singapore!

Those who seek the assistance of our programmes are trying their best to cope, and the promise of their next meal is important to them; that is why we work hard to ensure the reliable and consistent provision of our food rations every month without fail to give them the continued food security that they need.

Food Donation Drives in Singapore

Organising food donation drives in Singapore is one of the ways volunteers can help to gather much-needed food supplies while creating awareness about Food from the Heart.

Food donation drives are often adopted by organisations as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme. They are also held by school students fulfilling the Values in Action programme, where they commit their time to community service and encourage people to donate food to those in need.

In turn, as your selected food charity, we can support your food donation drive efforts with Food from the Heart marketing collaterals. Creating awareness about our cause to feed underserved individuals and families, letting more people know about the existence of your food drives and where they can go to donate food in Singapore are just some of the things to consider when organising a food donation drive.

Food Sorting

We receive a variety of food items from our food donation drives in Singapore, which have been organised by external organisations. These food items may come in good and bad conditions; single and family-sized packs; Halal and non-Halal.

Our beneficiaries' well-being is of utmost importance, which is why we conduct strict quality checks to make sure all the food we distribute is safe for consumption. The process includes checking for expiration dates and the food safety aspects of the packaging.

After passing our quality checks, items are sorted according to their categories and sizes so that they can be easily packed in appropriate quantities later on.

Food Packing

The Community Food Pack comprises food from different categories, such as staples, vegetables and proteins and cooking essentials. After sorting the food received through food donation drives, the items are packed into food packs that will last each family for a month.

We welcome groups of 10 - 15 people to volunteer with our food drives and help with packing the rations before they are sent to the Self-Collection Centres for distribution in Singapore. Indicate your interest here.

Food Distribution

Our logistics team delivers the monthly food packs from our donation drives to our community partners, who distribute them to our beneficiaries at our Self-Collection Centres on the same day of every month.
