Food needed for our first Community Shop

Food from the Heart is launching our first Community Shop (also known as 善粮小铺) @Mountbatten and we need your help to fill our shelves!

How does the Community Shop concept work?

The Community Shop is an effort launched with the aim of giving better; it runs on a mini-mart concept in which Food from the Heart beneficiaries can shop for their groceries for free. Such a model of giving has various benefits:

• It empowers the needy to choose what they want/need instead of receiving  a pre-selected food items, which has its merits though comparatively passive
• It enables the needy to pick items based on their needs at the moment
• It encourages beneficiaries to get out of their homes and have more interaction with others

• Rice in 2.5kg packs
• Cooking oil, 500ml - 1L
• Instant noodles/vermicelli
• Canned food
• Coffee, tea, Milo

Excess food donations will be channelled to the rest of our Community Food Pack beneficiaries islandwide.
