Who shops at the Community Shop?

Many families living on limited incomes struggle with rising food prices and limited options for fresh, nutritious meals. The Community Shop helps bridge this gap by offering a wide range of essentials in a mini-mart setting, where everything is free, allowing beneficiaries to shop for what they truly need.

Currently, nearly 4,300 households are supported monthly through our six Community Shops located in Mountbatten, Boon Lay, Lengkok Bahru, Punggol, Chong Pang and Bedok South.

How the
Community Shop works?

Beneficiaries can visit the Community Shop in their neighbourhood, designed like a minimart, to explore and choose from a range of essential items. They can make multiple visits throughout the month.

Redeem

Each month, beneficiaries can redeem up to 14 items:

  • 12 non-perishable food items such as rice, canned food, oats, biscuits and eggs
  • 2 fresh produce items such as leafy vegetables

What goes into a
Community Food Pack?

Scan & Improve

Redemptions are tracked using each beneficiary’s Food from the Heart card. This helps us reduce food waste, understand real needs, and improve future food aid planning.
