Impact of Tightened COVID-19 Measures (2021)

Food from the Heart has been keeping in line with safety measures and has not relaxed its hygiene and operational safety standards since the Circuit Breaker period in 2020. On top of MOH’s safety guidelines, the warehouse goes through regular onsite disinfection, which includes our delivery vehicles.

While better-equipped to deal with the disruption from the pandemic a year after COVID-19 was first announced, the concerning progression of the virus variants and tightening measures have once again significantly impacted Food from the Heart’s volunteer turn-out and donations.

Volunteers

Each day, four groups of 10 volunteers help Food from the Heart pack 400 food packs; this amounts to a distribution of over 9,000 food packs every month.

Many of these groups are from corporations, who have had to pull out of their scheduled volunteering sessions. As Food from the Heart continues to improve the efficiency of our operations without compromising health and safety, we hope that individual volunteers will continue stepping forward to help us out.

Another category of volunteers help Food from the Heart deliver food packs from the warehouse to the doorsteps of our beneficiaries. To do so, volunteers need to have their own access to a vehicle for transportation. With 400 food packs to be delivered door-to-door every month, Food from the Heart is always on the lookout for more of such volunteers. Sign up as a food pack delivery volunteer today.

Donations

Like many activities, many of the food donation drives our partners have planned to execute for us have been put on hold or cancelled, affecting the quantity of donated food received.

Food from the Heart distributes food every month to our beneficiaries without fail because it is exactly this reliable support they need during difficult times. As we tap on our existing fund reserves, we call for our supporters to donate generously so that we can purchase more food and continue feeding the needy in a sustainable manner.

Food from the Heart is grateful for the support of the community during these trying times. Every individual's contribution means a lot to us, and it is our combined effort that moves mountains. Let's continue feeding the needy together!
