Food from the Heart (FFTH) is a registered charity with IPC status in Singapore, dedicated to alleviating food insecurity through reliable, consistent, and sustainable food support. We believe that access to nutritious food should be a given, not a privilege. Our efforts are focused on ensuring that individuals and families facing challenging circumstances receive meaningful and dependable assistance.
Our core programmes—Bread Run, Community Food Pack, Community Shop, School Goodie Bag, and Market Place—are thoughtfully designed to meet a range of community needs, from daily essentials to child-focused nutrition support. These programmes reach tens of thousands of beneficiaries across Singapore each year.
Your cash donation is a powerful catalyst in this process.
It enables us to continue delivering food support where it matters most, ensuring that no one is left behind. Every contribution helps build a more compassionate and equitable society. One where dignity is preserved, and food insecurity is actively addressed with care and purpose.
At Food from the Heart, our commitment to alleviating food insecurity is driven by a deep understanding of the realities many individuals and families face. We work hand in hand with grassroots organisations, welfare homes, and a network of community partners (such as local schools, family service centres, and eldercare institutions) to reach those who might otherwise go unseen. The beneficiaries we serve include individuals living in public rental flats, families with a per capita income below S$800 and residents in long-term care facilities.
Our food distribution efforts span several key programmes. Through our Bread Run programme, we redistribute surplus bread to our various bread distribution points, bridging the gap between surplus bread and communities in need. Our Community Food Pack programme distributes a steady supply of essential non perishables that are complemented with eggs, fresh produce and bread from our Bread Run programme. To allow beneficiaries a dignity of choice, our Community Shop is a shop-for-free minimart where they can redeem up to 14 items every month. For underprivileged students, our School Goodie Bag programme is a monthly distribution of nutritious food at schools to families and students who are receiving financial assistance. Finally, our Market Place programme strives to reduce food waste by channelling packaging-damaged or near-expiry food that is still good for consumption to those who need it.
Beyond food, we also run signature events like Toy Buffet, an annual carnival-like event where thousands of underprivileged children enjoy a day of play, treats, and the simple delight of choosing their own toys, reminding them that they, too, are seen and valued.
When you make a cash donation to Food from the Heart, your donation is channeled directly into two essential areas: purchasing food and operational costs. This approach ensures that our programmes are well-stocked and sustainably run, so that food continues to consistently reach our beneficiaries without any disruptions
The large majority of your donation helps us purchase essential food items that may not always be received through food donations. This is especially true for our School Goodie Bag programme, which is fully funded by cash donations. Consisting of items such as low-GI noodles, oatmeal, milk and fresh eggs, each monthly Goodie Bag is specially curated to support underprivileged school students during a critical stage of their lives when proper nutrition is crucial for their development.
Donations also help us maintain and scale our Community Food Pack and Community Shop programmes, ensuring that households facing food insecurity can continue to receive consistent support. Items purchased range from staples such as rice, canned meats, cooking oil and other daily essentials.
Every cash contribution goes directly into fuelling nourishment, not just kitchens, but to support long-term well-being for families and individuals navigating financial strain.
Beyond food, a small portion of every donation is also used to keep our operations running smoothly. These operating expenses cover critical processes such as warehousing and transport, ensuring that every food item delivered is stored and distributed responsibly.
As an independent charity that does not rely on regular government funding, we depend on public support to sustain our work. Your contribution helps us stay responsive, efficient and ready to act when needs arise. Just 12.5% of each programme-specific donation is allocated to these essential functions, allowing us to maintain the integrity, reach and consistency of our mission to alleviate food insecurity across Singapore.
Your donation to our food distribution charity helps ensure a consistent supply of essential food items reaches those in need, staples that underprivileged children, individuals and families in Singapore rely on for day-to-day sustenance. These contributions enable us to provide reliable food support through our core programmes, reaching tens of thousands of beneficiaries who may otherwise face uncertain access to basic nutrition.
Your support is vital in helping us maintain our daily operations, purchasing food that those in need require. Allocating a portion of your donation towards operating expenses helps us to manage the logistics, warehousing, and safe delivery of food , ensuring that every pack reaches our beneficiaries on time and in good condition. Every dollar donated further strengthens our ability to scale our work and reach more people in need.
